INTERVIEW WITH DYLAN HENRY, "GOFOIL AUSTRALIA"
Tell us more about Gofoil - what inspired you to start it?
So I didn’t actually start GoFoil. But I had the opportunity to buy the importation rights for Australia in 2019 so I said shit yeah let’s do this!
Things you've learned along the way?
Well having SUP Newcastle since 2012 and never doing business or any of the “smart” subjects at school definitely means I've had to learn the hard way many times but also believe you don’t know till you try. Where I’m at now is success is knowing that you’ve done your best.
What does a day in your life look like?
Hahaha well… not like most peoples. There’s definitely the perks like travel and foiling everyday for hours on end but there’s also the office stuff, phone and emails at all sorts of hours as we are dealing in many time zones. But overall wake up, emails, surf check and foil, usually hang at the beach answering questions to people who come by to ask how it works, then phone and emails again maybe pack some orders and either surf again or train at the gym. Depending on the day sauna and ice recovery then yoga session. But I definitely don’t have a set routine but I have a lot of fun.
Any words of inspiration or wisdom for those looking to create something new?
Go for it! Don’t let some prick tell you, you can’t do it! Give it a red hot crack, back yourself and do you best.
What’s next for Gofoil? Any exciting news on the horizon?
GoFoil are always bringing new equipment out and it’s super exciting to be a part of something epic. Heading to Maui in August for product testing & hanging out with some of the guys I've looked up to my whole career.
Thanks Dylan, how can readers connect with you?
